RAM Technologies Group, Inc. provides patented and proprietary “Green” processes
and products to the paving and waterproofing industries.
Innovative processes include the chemical de-vulcanization of crumb rubber form
waste streams including used automobile and truck tires, belts and inner tubes.
This treated crumb rubber is used to reduce the use of costly virgin polymer to
modify paving asphalt while providing enhanced properties and longer life. This
same rubber modified asphalt can be used in the production of liquid
waterproofing membranes with increased physical strength, life at reduced cost
over the use of expensive plasticizers and polymer resins.
By modify paving asphalt in this manner, the process not only releases the
polymer into the asphalt but imparts enhanced properties and longer life through
use of the other components used in making a tire such as carbon black, sulfur,
zinc oxide, anti oxidants and anti-ozonates. The use of reclaimed polymers is not
only environmentally friendly, but also allows for substantial cost savings by
replacing up to 90% of polymer requirements.
Products such as PG 76-22PM and PG 64-28PM are easily achieved with the addition
of crumb rubber using RAM Technology.
This same rubber modified asphalt can be used in the production of liquid
waterproofing membranes with increased physical strength, life at reduced cost
over the use of expensive plasticizers and polymer resins.
RAM Technology is also used in the manufacture of modified cutback bitumen for
use in ambient applied cold patch for road maintenance, increased use of
recycled asphalt (RAP) and asphalt shingles in road products.
RAM also manufactures zero VOC cutback asphalts (ECO friendly and high safety
value products) for use in ambient applied cold patch for road maintenance,
increased use of asphalt (RAP) and asphalt shingles in road products.
These products can be used in urban hot plants without worrying about the air
quality issues normally associated with regular cutbacks and the flash points
are well above the boiling points adding a significant safety margin to hot
plant operations.
